Bring A Friend Days - January 25th and January 27th

Students are invited to "Bring Friends" with them to their karate class on Tuesday, January 25th and Thursday, January 27th. Students will earn Dojo Dollars for each friend that they bring to class.

Your friends should wear comfortable clothing. They will get a chance to check out a class, try their hand at karate, and test their skills during the obstacle course.

Family Day is Wednesday, January 26th. Bring your family to class with you, or attend Family Class at 6:30 pm.

Graduation Date - Friday, January 21st

The next graduation (White through Red Belt) will be held on Friday, January 21^st, 2011.  There will be no regular classes on this day.

Upcoming Graduation Dates

The regular school (Lower Belt) graduation will be held on Wednesday, October 6th. The UMA Advanced Belt Graduation will be held on Saturday, October 9th at the Prom Center in Oakdale.

Graduation times are at 9:00 am and 12:00 pm. Graduates should be at the Prom Center one hour before their scheduled graduation time.

There will be no regular classes on either Wednesday the 6th or Saturday the 9th.

Bring a Friend Days - August 24th and 26th

Students are welcome to "Bring A Friend" with them to their karate class on Tuesday, August 24th or Thursday, August 26th. Students will earn Dojo Dollars for each friend (family members are welcome, too) that they bring.

Friends will get a chance to check out a class, try their hand at some karate, and test their skills during the obstacle course.

Pepper Fest Parade Details

We are number 79 for the Pepper Fest Grand Parade. Our line up spot is on 10th Street N, just off of Sommers Street N. We will begin lining up at 10:30 a.m. The parade begins at 11:00.

Students walking in the parade should wear their karate pants and belt, and their black UMA t-shirt. If you do not have a t-shirt, we will have one for you at the parade.

Parents and families are welcome to join us. If you are not walking along with your child/children, please plan to pick them up at Pepperfest Park (7th and St. Croix) at 12:30.

For students not attending the parade, there will be No Regular Classes on Saturday, August 21st.

Pepper Fest Grand Parade

Walk with us in the Pepper Fest Grand Parade on Saturday, August 21st at 11:00 am. We will be lining up around 10:30 am (details to follow). Students, families and friends are all welcome! The sign up sheet is posted at the school. The parade route starts at Lemon and Michaelson, goes west on Michaelson, then south on 6th (Hwy 35) to St. Croix Street.

UMA Family Picnic

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of food and games at the Lake Elmo Park Reserve North Shelter, Sunday, August 1st from 1:00 - 4:00 pm. Hot Dogs and beverages will be provided. Please bring a dish to share. There is a $5 park entry fee per vehicle (unless you have a Washington County Park Pass).

The park also has a swimming area and a giant play structure.

Booster Day Parade on Saturday, July 3rd

We are number 28 for the Booster Day Parade. For those of you joining us, we will be lining up on Oak Street between 3rd and 4th at 10:30 am. The parade starts at 11:00 am.

Students walking in the parade should wear their karate pants and bring their belts. We will provide them with a UMA t-shirt for the parade.

Parents are welcome to join us. If you are not walking along with your child/children, please plan to pick them up promptly at 12 (noon) at the Dairy Queen (9 Second Street).

For everyone else, please have a very safe and enjoyable 4th of July holiday. There will be no regular classes on Saturday, July 3rd.

Summer Schedule

The new Summer schedule will take effect on June 14th, 2010. Day classes have been added for Juniors on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. Please note that there have also been a few changes made to the Junior class schedule on Fridays and Saturdays. The Adult schedule includes a new Green/Above offering on Thursdays and some minor time changes on Saturday, including the opportunity for adults to attend the Weapons class!
